This year, we mark World Malaria Day under the theme: “Malaria ends with us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.” It is a powerful reminder that eliminating malaria requires renewed political will, sustained financial investment, and strong partnerships.
We must protect the hard-won gains and accelerate progress. The fight is far from over, but together, we can defeat malaria for good.

Khuduthamaga Traditional Troupe, alongside dance groups from across the nation, came together in powerful unity to send off one of them, their beloved brother, Molebedi Tshiamo, with the rhythm of tradition and the spirit of community.
Through heartfelt songs and dances, they honored his memory in the most personal way—turning grief into celebration, sorrow into strength.Though Tshiamo may be gone, his legacy lives on in every step, every drumbeat, and every voice raised in his name.
💔✨ To his family, friends, and the Khuduthamaga family—may you find comfort in these bonds of culture and the love that surrounds you. Rest in peace, Tshiamo🙏

Our engagements have strengthened the bonds between our two nations, culminating in the signing of key cooperation agreements. We have identified strategic sectors such as mining, energy, and other areas of mutual interest where collaboration will drive sustainable growth, enhance trade, create employment opportunities, and promote technological exchange.
These partnerships will not only bolster our respective economies but also deepen our shared vision for prosperity and development.

Yesterday in Palapye, the Bonno National Housing Programme was officially launched, a decisive step toward delivering 61,000 quality homes across all 61 constituencies.
This marks a shift from the traditional National Development Plan to a focused, results-driven National Transformation Plan, with a clear emphasis on real, tangible change for Batswana.
Access to housing is not a privilege it is a right. The Bonno Programme restores that right, offering not just shelter, but dignity, hope, and opportunity.

Today, we convened for the 40th HATAB Annual Conference in our warm and welcoming town of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders.
Held under the theme “Botswana Tourism: Exploring The Conditions For Growth,” the conference brought together tourism players, innovators, and stakeholders to shape the future of the sector.
In delivering the keynote address, I reaffirmed tourism as a national priority sector and reiterated government’s strong commitment to investing in infrastructure, transport, connectivity, and essential services.
Tourism plays a critical role in job creation, economic diversification, and community development and it is important that Botswana is always prepared to welcome the world. Our visitors can rest assured, we are ready.

Yesterday, during a kgotla meeting in Kgagodi, I assured residents that the 10,000 hectares taken through a 2023 Presidential Directive will be returned to the community.
Restoring land to Kgagodi, Tamasane, Moremi, and Lesenepole is a matter of justice and dignity. I have advised government legal practitioners that this administration will not intimidate citizens over what is rightfully theirs.
