The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has underscored the importance of continued sustainability for media institutions, saying the authority will continue engaging with them in its role as a regulator.
Speaking before touring New Apostolic Church 28 TV, IBA Director General Webster Malido highlighted the need for media institutions and the regulator to work collaboratively on compliance.
Mr Malido said the church plays an integral role in the broadcasting sector, emphasising that Zambia is a Christian nation.
He also commended NAC 28 TV for its positive compliance record.
Director General who is on a farmiliarisation tour of media institutions stated that NAC 28 TV is one of the standard bearers in broadcasting infrastructure.
Earlier, NAC 28 TV Board Chairperson Philimon Songolo welcomed the IBA’s visit to the station and highlighted the important role the regulator plays in the TV station’s success.
Bishop Songolo noted that the station is currently developing various components and working on content that aligns with the values of the New Apostolic Church.
Bishop Songolo emphasised that these engagements by the IBA will help the station’s operations, adding that once the station is ready and equipped to produce news, it will begin broadcasting news.
“NAC is known for its music, which is largely what we do, but we can do much more,” he said.
The Bishop said the station remains compliant and intends to maintain that standard even as it has the potential to expand its income generating activities.
