Europe and beyond continues to battle wildfires and droughts because of ongoing extreme heat. Record-breaking temperatures are affecting everything from electricity to food supply, with fears the economic cost of back-to-back heatwaves could be huge. It comes as the EU’s global warming monitor says western Europe has experienced its hottest June - July period on record.
